Born in Bedfordshire, Micah grew up in West Africa before returning to the UK where he completed a BMus in Classical Percussion and Drum Kit at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, and was awarded the Adam Collins Prize for Advanced Percussion. He later turned his attention to jazz vibraphone and drums, completing an MMus in jazz percussion at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2024.
He has performed in the UK and internationally as a percussionist with artists and ensembles including duo CYMBIOSIS, The London Jazz Orchestra, Young Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra, Brixton Chamber Orchestra, Massive Chops Big Band, Electric Earth Orchestra, The Amalgam, Tenderhost, and has played with Ed Sheeran. He can be heard playing vibraphone on LJO’s upcoming album Between Earth and Sky, and has appeared on BBC Radio 3 playing latin percussion.
In 2023 he joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra’s Emerging Professionals, with whom he has played gigs around the country including at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
He has also performed at Vortex Jazz Club, King’s Place, Blackheath Halls, Cadogan Hall, and has been a member of pit bands for shows at London College of Music, Bird College, and others. He was part of a week-long tour of Switzerland with CYMBIOSIS in 2024.
Micah has written, produced, and released his own songs, written for The Amalgam and Electric Earth Orchestra, and has composed his own works for percussion including solo vibraphone, solo marimba, and percussion duo. He acts as composer, arranger and co-founder of award-winning percussion and tuba duo CYMBIOSIS.
He leads his own vibraphone quartet, who debuted performing his original contemporary jazz tunes in 2025 and who he continues to write for and perform with.
